The Anthology Shop

The Pop Up:

October 2018 - Spring 2019

 

CBD was a new thing and people had a lot of questions. And since the business couldn’t advertise in traditional ways, the best thing to do at the time was to open an actual store which would serve as the living billboard.

It needed to be in a trendy neighborhood that gets lots of foot traffic. Only problem was it had to happen fast. And my friend’s failing skate shop came to mind. Great location, was a total gut job and the owner wanted out. Perfect for a CBD Pop Up!?

So it happened.

 

Below are some mockups of the original idea for the interior/inspo. I wanted something like a modern apothecary, with dark walls that let the product pop and speak for itself, tonally relaxing. I wanted people to be able to touch and sample the product, while the retail employee talked to them about the various uses. A very hands on experience. The idea was to host events all the time, so no clutter. And it had to be very approachable. Until then most people thought of these products only being available in dispensaries, and most dispensaries were sterile and downright creepy.

The idea was to split the space into two sections: Anthology Wellness (the namesake product) and Adaptation, the more elevated herbally infused products. Each had their own wall respectively.

And so Anthology was born on October 5, 2018 - six weeks from start to finish.
